Leaders Embody Guidance Accountability Character
Year-Round

Myron J. Covington
I was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, and graduated from the esteemed St. Anthony High School, where I was recognized as an All-State Athlete. Now 45 years old, I reside in Newark, NJ, with my wife, Shikeya, our 12-year-old son, Kai'Jean, and our 6-year-old daughter, Akaisha.
I currently serve as the International Grand Vice Polaris of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated. In this role, I have gained extensive experience and developed a deep understanding of what it takes to guide our fraternity towards a prosperous future over the next 20 years and beyond. Throughout my time in the fraternity and in my current position, I have collaborated with brothers from coast to coast across all regions.
As I look towards the future, I am prepared to bring my intense, analytical approach and assertive business style to the role of International Grand Polaris. It is my goal to become the 24th individual to serve in this esteemed position, building upon our strong foundation and driving our fraternity forward.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I was initiated into Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated, at the Epsilon Chapter of New Jersey City University in the Spring of 1998. Immediately after my initiation, I began my journey of leadership within the fraternity, starting as Polaris. At my first Conclave in Oakland, CA, in 1999, I was elected as an Undergraduate Member to the Board of Directors. Shortly thereafter, I was appointed as the New Jersey State Director, where I oversaw all fraternity activities in the state, including intake, chapter operations, and training and development.
In 2007, I took on the role of Regional Vice Polaris of the Atlantic Coast Region, where I was responsible for monitoring regional development and establishing partnerships with colleges and universities throughout the region. Two years later, in 2009, I was elevated to the position of Regional Polaris of the Atlantic Coast Region, where I had a successful tenure overseeing regional operations and growth.
Additionally, I served three terms on the Nominations and Elections Committee, including two terms as Chair, where I successfully managed two elections and developed the current Elections and Nominations Manual used across the fraternity. I also contributed to the Rituals and Protocol Committee, where our team restructured and updated the fraternity's protocols and standards to ensure they met contemporary needs.
