Leaders Embody Guidance Accountability Character
Year-Round

Stephen Okoba
Greetings! I am Brother Stephen Okoba, a visionary leader deeply committed to Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated.
As the 24th International Grand Vice Polaris of this esteemed Fraternity, I am dedicated to advancing operational excellence and driving positive change. My focus is on fostering growth both
within the Fraternity and through external partnerships.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
With over 15 years of experience in program and project management, I bring a deep understanding of leadership and organizational development to my role. My journey with Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated began when I crossed the burning sands at Virginia State University (Eta Chapter) in the Spring of 2008. Since then, I have dedicated myself to leading, growing, and driving systematic and long-term improvements at every level within the Fraternity. My passion for implementing strategic changes and enhancements across all areas has equipped me with the skills needed to make a meaningful national impact.

Leadership Philosophy:
At the core of my leadership philosophy is a deep belief in understanding the purpose behind every action we take. I strive to empower my team to embrace servant leadership while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. I firmly believe that our organizational success hinges on our collective clarity about our goals, our confidence in achieving them, and the effective implementation of systems and processes that position us for success in fulfilling our purpose.

Achievements:
Under my leadership, the mighty Eastern Region of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated has achieved multiple and consistent Region of the Year awards. Whether it's leading in number of active chapters or brothers, or having a sustainable structure for years, I am proud of the strides we've made together. However, I am constantly driven to do more and am committed to pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve.
Throughout my Iota Journey, I have consistently driven impressive growth, evidenced by incremental annual increases in intake numbers across roles such as State Director, Regional Vice Polaris, and Regional Polaris. My ability to pivot and maintain momentum during the 2020 pandemic exemplifies my leadership skills; despite the challenges, the Region successfully made new members, fostered financial stability, and organized a highly successful Virtual Conference. This experience underscores my capacity to make swift, effective decisions while ensuring continuity and success in any situation.

Vision for the Future:
Looking ahead, my vision for Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated is one of sustained growth, impactful contributions, and unwavering excellence. I am enthusiastic about guiding Iota into a new era where every member is empowered to embrace genuine pride in our fraternity while achieving personal success. I am committed to steering our organization towards this shared vision, as we collectively navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and create a lasting impact on the world.

Personal Interests:
Outside of my professional role, I relish a good round of golf and find joy in growing my business. Whether I'm on the golf course, expanding my ventures, or spending quality time with friends and family, I am constantly inspired by exploring new experiences and perspectives.
Closing:
In conclusion, I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such an incredible group of men. Together, we will continue to push boundaries, expand, be innovative in ways that will propel Iota into new lights, and make a positive impact. I look forward to the journey ahead and am excited about what we will achieve together.

"...no true leader burdened his people with a greater load than they could carry, and no true leader sets too fast a pace for his people to keep up.”

"A leader is best when people barely know he exists. When his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves."

“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.”
